Thousands in the world die every day due to illness and starvation - do we care?
One person from our country dies in a terrorist attack, and her life and funeral is front page news.
Maybe its because its the death of a fellow singaporean and therefore there's a larger sense of loss.
But aren't all lives lives?
What about the people dying everyday from cancer and infectious diseases and accidents?
Don't they belong to someone too?
Can't help recalling this quote:
"A single death is a tragedy; a million deaths is a statistic." - Joseph Stalin
